Lincoln Recruitment, founded in Dublin in 2008 by Shay Dalton, began as a niche Accounting and Finance recruitment agency. The company has since expanded its expertise to include a wide range of industries such as healthcare, technology, and more. They pride themselves on identifying and placing mid-senior level talent in both Ireland and the UK. Additionally, Lincoln Recruitment offers specialized Executive Search services.
Shay approached me with a critical need to overhaul Lincoln Recruitment’s website. Their original site, built in 2008 on an outdated ASP platform, severely hampered their online presence. The legacy technology wasn’t compatible with modern web browsers, and it completely lacked any mobile optimization. This incompatibility translated into a frustrating user experience and made the company appear behind the times – significantly hindering their ability to attract top talent and clients in the digital age.
Collaborating closely with my web developer Anthony, we recognized the need to modernize Lincoln Recruitment’s website UX while working within the constraints of their existing ASP platform. Our solution involved a comprehensive reskinning using advanced CSS techniques. This allowed us to significantly revamp the website’s design and improve usability, despite limitations imposed by the outdated backend.
The success of the website redesign led to additional opportunities. Lincoln Recruitment further commissioned us to develop their social media channels and provide monthly website analytics reporting. We also took on the annual design and layout of their printed ACCA and CIMA booklet, which was distributed to graduate accountants throughout Ireland.
From the project’s beginning, we worked closely with Shay and the Lincoln Recruitment team to design a website that aligned with the needs of their distinct B2B and B2C Executive Search audiences. While the ASP framework imposed limitations, clever workarounds allowed us to deliver a website that was responsive, dynamic, and user-friendly.
A point of pride was creating the annual “A Definitive Guide to Accountancy Roles” handbook for recent graduates. Our involvement spanned concept creation, content editing, and managing the production of three versions of the booklet—including original imagery and photography. The success of this project solidified our collaboration with Lincoln Recruitment for two additional years.
